Morning ladies, so how's everyone doing?
Today I want to talk TLC & in particular nail care. I've long been a fan of gel nail polish & in the past three years have treated myself to manicures on a regular basis. In fact I love the fact that they last for 2-3 weeks (depending on the condition of your nails & what you're doing). So much so I just couldn't see myself going back to home manicures with normal polish, so during our mass clear out prior to moving to France I actually decided to get rid of my collection of OPI polishes.
Fast forward a few months & with all the work we are doing on the house & garden & no doubt the stress of the move my gel manicures just aren't lasting & I think the last three years of not giving my nails a break has caught up with me. As a result I've decided it's just not worth the cost at the moment & as much as I love my dark polishes I have a calling for something a little more natural & that involves less upkeep - I know who am I......I usually love my black nails during the height of summer!!!!
Just before the full impact of Coronavirus truly hit I decided that the last gel manicure would be my last for a while (apart from maybe special occasions & holidays) & decided instead to treat my nails & myself to some polishes that would stand up to all the work my hands are currently doing & also be a little kinder to my nails whilst helping me get them back to being strong & healthy.
Several years ago I had gone through a phase of using Dior Addict Nail Glow Instant French Manicure Effect Brightening Treatment & remember being impressed so I decided to see if they'd added any similar products/colours to the range. To my delight they now do a range called 'Diorlisse' that is designed to strength, nourish & whiten nails, whilst giving the look of a French manicure.
It turns out my timing couldn't have been better as with the lockdown here in France I wouldn't have been able to go for my next gel manicure anyway & at least now I have the knowledge that should I chip one due to DIY/gardening I can easily repair the nail & remove the polish myself.
Whilst I haven't been using the products for long I'm impressed & for now this is definitely the way forward for me & it's also given me the excuse to earmark a little much needed TLC time for myself during lockdown.
I've popped together the complete range above & as always just click on any of the images for further details.
