| On October 18, 2019, King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, former Queen Sofia, Crown Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia of Spain attended the Princess of Asturias Awards 2019 ceremony held at the Campoamor Theater in Oviedo, Spain. The awards were established in 1980 by the Prince of Asturias Foundation, a non-profit institution that aims to promote the sciences, technology, concord, arts and letters. Among the recipients this year, there are theatre and film director Peter Stephen Paul Brook, writer Siri Hustvedt, olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, sociologist Alejandro Portes, educator and mathematician Salman Khan. |
