Dutch King and Queen attended National Commemoration of Slavery

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima attended the National Commemoration of the History of Slavery

On July 1, 2023, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands, and Prime Minister Rutte attended the National Commemoration of the History of Slavery at Oosterpark in Amsterdam. The Royal couple laid the first wreath. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the end of slavery in the Dutch colonies.
