On October 4, 2022, Queen Margrethe and Princess Benedikte attended the launch of the Danish Handcraft Guild's Cross-stitch of the Year 2023 (Årets Korssting 2023) held in Amalienborg Museum at Christian VIII's Palace. Queen Margrethe designed the Cross Stitch of the Year 2023, which is a calendar with 12 embroideries for each of the 12 months of the year. The Queen had also designed the Cross Stitch of the Years 1978, 1984 and 2004.
