On July 18, 2022, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the 2020 UN Nelson Mandela Award ceremony at the United Nations in New York. The Duke delivered a keynote speech on Nelson Mandela International Day. The 2020 Prize is awarded to Marianna Vardinoyannis of Greece and Dr. Morissanda Kouyate of Guinea. The prize, which is given every five years, recognises people who have dedicated their lives to the service of humanity.
