On July 13, 2022, Japanese Princess Kako attended the ceremony of 39th National Urban Greening Fair in Eniwa City, Hokkaido Prefecture. After the ceremony, Princess Kako planted a commemorative tree (Prunus sargentii, commonly known as North Japanese hill cherry) and inspected the city’s greening efforts. The Fair was started in 1983.
