On July 29, 2022, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence attended the Men's Rugby Sevens game on the first day of the 2022 Commonwealth Games at the Coventry Stadium in Coventry. The Commonwealth Games dates back to 1930 and has been held every four years since, aside from a pause during WWII.
