On May 29, 2022, Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima paid an unannounced visit to Valkenburg to see and receive information about the situation of residents and entrepreneurs after the flood that occurred last year. The Limburg city was hit by flood almost a year ago and Valkenburg was the worst affected place. The King and Queen spoke with entrepreneurs in the Grotestraat about the consequences of the flood.
