On April 1, 2022, Queen Mathilde visited the exhibition 'Intimacy and the World' by the artist Charles Szymkowicz at the La Boverie museum in Liege. The exhibition displays 350 works by the Belgian painter who is considered as one of the great names of expressionism in Europe. The Belgian artist Charles Szymkowicz, who was born in 1948 in Charleroi, is an important pioneer of the new figuration and the European neo-expressionism.
