Crown Prince Akishino (Fumihito) and his wife Crown Princess Kiko visited Ise Jingu Shrine in Mie Prefecture and the Emperor Jimmu tomb in Nara Prefecture. The visits purpose was to proclaim the completion of a ritual known as Rikkoshi no Rei, which took place back in November 2020 to make it official that Fuhimito is the heir to the Chrysanthemum Throne.
