Human rights activist Desmond Tutu died of cancer in Cape Town at the age of 90 on December 26, 2021. Tutu was the Bishop of Johannesburg from 1985 to 1986 and then the Archbishop of Cape Town from 1986 to 1996. European royals offered condolence for Desmond Tutu with the photos and messages they posted on social media. King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima and Princess Beatrix were the first royals to offer condolence.
