Danish Queen Margrethe delivered her traditional New Year speech from Christian IX’s Palace at Amalienborg. The larger part of her speech included the pandemic issue which is a global health crisis. There were three tupilaks on the table, which the Queen has personally received on various occasions. Tupilak means "The Ancestor's Soul" and is a small Greenlandic figure, formed in materials such as wood, bones, teeth and antlers from reindeer.
