The opening of the Danish Parliament took place in the presence of the Royal family

On October 6, 2020, Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and Princess Benedikte attended the opening of the year of 2020 of the Danish Parliament (Folketinget) at Christiansborg Palace. The opening of the Danish Parliament is the start of the new legislative year and it takes place on the first Tuesday in October each year.

Prince Joachim and Princess Marie could not attend the opening because they were in France. The Danish Parliament (Folketingets) is located in a historical setting at Christiansborg Palace on the island of Slotsholmen in Copenhagen.
