Queen Margrethe attended the Rungstedlund Award 2020 ceremony at Karen Blixen Museum in Rungsted. The Rungstedlund Award is annually presented to a person who has helped to spread the knowledge of Karen Blixen or who has excelled in a field that was of interest to Karen Blixen. The award includes 50,000 kroner. The Rungstedlund Award was established by the Rungstedlund Foundation (Rungstedlundfonden) in 1991.
The Rungstedlund Award was first awarded by Hørsholm Municipality in connection with the opening of the Karen Blixen Museum and was first presented in 1991. The Queen is patron of the Rungstedlund Foundation. Baroness Karen Christenze von Blixen-Finecke (1885 - 1962) was a Danish author who wrote works in Danish and English. She is best known under her pen names Isak Dinesen, used in English-speaking countries, and Tania Blixen, used in German-speaking countries.
The Rungstedlund Prize was awarded this year to author, journalist and adventurer Puk Damsgård for his commitment to several of the world's focal points and for his ability to convey stories from there about the people and their living conditions.
