On September 12, 2020, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark made her dressage show debut at the regional show in Frederiksværk. Her daughter Princess Isabella accompanied her. The Crown Princess scored 72.05% and placed fourth with the horse Edelman.

The most prominent member of the Danish royal family involved with the sport is Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein who is a multiple Oympian, European and World Championship finalist. Now, she is the trainer of the Danish Grand Prix dressage team. Nathalie's mother, Princess Benedikte of Denmark, is a horse breeder, and honorary president and patron of the Danish warmblood society, World Breeding Federation of Sport Horses and Global Dressage Foundation.
