| On October 15, 2019, Tuesday, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway arrived at the Frankfurt Book Fair. The Crown couple were welcomed by Juergen Boos, the President of the Book Fair, and Heinrich Riethmüller, chair of the German Publishers and Booksellers Association. Afterwards, Crown Princess Mette-Marit officially opened the Frankfurt Book Fair 2019. Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, authors Karl Ove Knausgård and Erika Fatland, and artist Elle Márjá Eira were present at the official opening ceremony.
