The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended The King’s Cup

On August 8, 2019, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took part in the regatta The King’s Cup to raise awareness and funds for eight of their charity patronages. The event took place on waters around Cowes on the Isle of Wight. The Duke and Duchess each skippered their own yachts. The Duchess of Cambridge chose four of her patronages and competed on behalf of the Royal Foundation, in connection with her work on the early years development of children. The Duke of Cambridge competed on behalf of Child Bereavement UK. Eight yachts represented causes supported by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. At the event, The Duke and Duchess competed with each other as skippers of individual sailing boats, in an eight boat regatta race.
