| On April 8, 2019, Prince Hisahito, the 12-year-old grandson of Emperor Akihito, attended the entrance ceremony at the Ochanomizu Junior High School in Tokyo with his parents Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko. Prince Hisahito will be second in line to the Chrysanthemum Throne following the abdication of the 85-year-old emperor on April 30. Prince Akishino, the younger son of the Emperor and the father of Prince Hisahito, will become first-in-line to the throne. |
