Bohemian Rhapsody to hit Chinese theatres

(China Plus) An advance IMAX screening of Bohemian Rhapsody rocked Beijing, the Chinese capital over the weekend.

Guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor bass guitarist John Deacon, and lead singer Freddie Mercury took the music world by storm when they formed their rock 'n' roll band Queen in 1970.

The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound.

Some Chinese moviegoers said the film is quite touching, particularly when they see Freddy Mercury's AIDS battle.

"Bohemian Rhapsody" won five Oscars this year. In addition to Rami Malek's win for lead role as Freddy Mercury, "Bohemian Rhapsody" took awards for sound mixing, sound editing and film editing.

It is scheduled to hit Chinese theatres on March 22.
