| On January 10, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, King Juan Carlos, Queen Sofia, Infanta Elena and Princess Pilar attended National Sports Awards ceremony held at El Pardo Royal Palace in Madrid. National Sports Awards (Premios Nacionales del Deporte) were established in 1982 and are annual sports awards that are given to Spanish athletes with best achievements in the preceding calendar year.
