On October 5, 2018, The Countess of Wessex hosted OSCAR Foundation's U-17 girls football team at the Windsor Castle in Berkshire. The Indian Under-17 Women's football team is comprised of girl players from Mumbai slums and rural parts of Jharkhand. The Organization for Social Change Awareness and Responsibility (OSCAR) Foundation has used football to address community issues in the Ambedkar Nagar slum, Mumbai since 2006. With a strong focus on education, OSCAR aims to break the cycle of substance abuse, gambling and early marriage. |
