(China Daily) When Yoko Kamio, a Japanese comic artist, drew four good-looking boys on a paper in the 1990s, she never expected that her work would later become popular in Asia and would be adapted by her motherland, China and South Korea.
In fact, though the animated series was launched in 1995, it was Taiwan's TV-adaptation Meteor Garden that took the comic to overnight fame.
After its great success, Japan, South Korea and Chinese mainland made another three TV versions of the story from 2005 to 2009.
The latest Chinese TV adaptation, starring five new stars of the young generation, began on July 9.
