(Toggle) Famed Chinese actor and martial artist Jet Li had fans all over the world worried about his health condition, when photos of him looking frail while visiting a Chengdu temple recently went viral over the internet.
Describing Jet as “unrecognisable”, “frail” and “older” than his actual age in the photos, fans wondered if the actor’s health has taken yet another plunge, since he opened up about having hyperthyroidism, a condition that can cause anxiety, fast heartbeat and high blood sugar levels, five years ago.
The 55-year-old shared recent photos of himself on Facebook yesterday night (May 23), and wrote, “I would like to thank all my fans who expressed concerns about my health. I’m doing great and feeling great! I’m excited to share with you all a few projects I am working on in the near future. For now, thank you all for your concern!”
He also shared a video clip of himself last Sunday (May 20), where he spoke at a charity event in Chengdu. In the clip, he assured fans and the media that he is not “sick” or “paralysed” like what rumours claimed.
This is not the first time Jet’s deteriorating health condition has made the news, as he was previously said to be suffering from spinal problems due to spending an extended period of time filming intense action movies. At that time, his doctor warned him that he might end up in a wheelchair if he doesn’t quit, to which the actor shared that he had no plans of retiring from showbiz yet.
