Jackie Chan sponsors restoration project of ancient Chinese architecture


(China Plus) A groundbreaking ceremony for a restoration project of ancient dwellings, led by Hong Kong movie star Jackie Chan, was held in Bengbu City, east China's Anhui Province on May 13, 2018, reports Chinanews.com.

Jackie Chan said that he hoped the presentation of buildings and collections in the exposition garden of the ancient dwellings will let more young Chinese people become interested in their country's traditional culture.

Experts and artists from countries including the United States, the Philippines, Cambodia, Spain, Singapore, Australia, the United Kingdom, well-known actors from China, as well as Ma Guoxiang, founder of the exposition garden of the ancient dwellings, attended the ceremony.

The exposition garden of the ancient dwellings is aimed at restoring and preserving 450 dwellings.
The project led by Jackie Chan is to open for construction at the end of 2018.
