(Toggle) Taiwanese actress Lin Chi-ling gained praises from the public as an actress who is as kind as she is beautiful, after netizens found out that she has been silently giving back to society on a monthly basis since 2016, on top of her annual charity work with her self-established charity organisation, ‘Chiling Charity Foundation’, since 2011.
The largest amount of money that the 43-year-old actress was said to have donated was NT$50 million (approximately S$2.23 million), and she did it while keeping a low-profile.
In view of all her contributions, the China Charity Ranking 2018 awarded her with the ‘Most Influential Celebrity Philanthropist Award’ during their annual award ceremony held on April 26.
According to Chinese media reports, Chi-ling turned up at the ceremony in an elegant off-shoulder black midi dress, and looked radiant when she personally received the award on stage.
The actress later shared photos from the ceremony over Facebook, and wrote, “I’m doing what I ought to do, because I have the ability to help others.”
