Morning ladies & happy Sunday. Today I'm choosing to ignore the fact it's still only February albeit that we've passed the half way mark & instead I'm dreaming of sunshine & Spring.
One of my favourite brands, who always seem to hit the right note between timeless elegant fashion with a nod to the latest trends is The White Company. So you can imagine my delight when they recently got in touch asking if I'd like to take a look at their latest collection for Spring & style a few of my favourite pieces.
If ever you were looking to completely start a fresh with your wardrobe & replace it with a chic understated capsule collection then you would never go wrong by choosing pieces from their range. Like their home & interior collection everything is paired down classics that instead of relying on the latest trends stand out for their cut, quality & style.
So before I share with you the pieces I've picked out for this post to style I wanted to share my edit from their full Spring collection & show you how I'd style each piece.
Starting with a fab look with a real wardrobe 'must have' the biker jacket. Personally I just love the idea of these wide legged trousers paired with leather trainers, a simple tee & stylish scarf. Both this & the boyfriend jeans styled with an elegant cashmere wrap & ballet pumps are perfect laid back weekend looks. Not to mention a simple loose fit cashmere knit styled with skinny jeans & metallic trainers. As with everything the devil is in the detail & I love the side button detailing.

Now we probably all own a stripe top or two but how about a scarf? This is definitely something missing from my wardrobe that would be perfect for tying a number of outfits together & would be ideal with this longline silk shirt & cigarette pants. I actually have the silk shirt from last summer (see here) & it's a great piece for your wardrobe. Ideal for dressing up or down & perfectly cut so it's not too fitted or loose.
I know I keep going on about being a sucker for detailing but for me it's what makes a piece of clothing really stand out. Such as the frill hem detailing to the loose fit top above or the cut of the linen jacket which would be ideal for casual weekend style as well as perfect for teaming with skinny jeans & heels for a night out.

Now I don't think there's many ladies who will admit to having too many pretty white tops in their wardrobe & the lace insert detailing of the one above is perfect for a nod to the boho trend that resurfaces every summer. Likewise the oversized cashmere pom pom edged scarf - team with a simple tee & jeans & you've got an easy, stylish go to look when you don't have time to think about what to wear.

Then of course there's the timeless trench perfect for those April showers & the stylish boucle jacket that will stand you in good stead for many a night out not to mention the classic breton top. All wardrobe staples that you'll find yourself reaching for time & time again.
Hopefully my edit has given you a good taste as to exactly what The White Company has to offer this season & of course I did mention at the start of this post that I had been allowed to choose some pieces to style. So what did I pick? Well for me it had to be the timeless trench, the essential breton together with their boyfriend jeans & suede ballet pumps. All pieces I know fit with my style & will help breathe new life into existing pieces.
In terms of sizing I've gone with my normal size for all the items & both in the clothing & shoes I would definitely say they're all true to size.
The trench is just stunning. Softer both in feel & fall to a classic trench, making it ideal if you're looking for something that can be dressed up or down. As you can see from the below picture it has a fab elasticated waist to the back, making it super flattering & fitting no matter what your body shape.
Bretons I find can be a tricky item to order as some can be quite figure hugging & others if looser fit can occasionally be shapeless. This one however, was exactly the fit I was looking for - a good length in both the body & sleeves & not too fitted to cling to your tummy or shapeless to add pounds. Nor to high at the neck to be unflattering either.
Like breton tops boyfriend jeans can also be a tricky business. I personally don't want my jeans to be too baggy & shapeless so often order a size down in a boyfriend jean for a more straighter leg fit, which I personally find more flattering & ideal for pairing with a blazer or two. Having looked at the online description I decided to take a risk & order my normal size of jean & I have to say the fit is perfect. Not too high rise that the jeans feel mumsy (I would say they start approximately an inch below my belly button), they're definitely more of a straight leg, tailored fit, which is ideal if like me you favour tailored classics, however if you'd prefer a looser more relaxed look then I'd simply advise sizing up a size. Plus for all those white tops hanging in our wardrobes & yes I 'may' have already purchased a couple more for summer, this shade of denim is ideal, especially when teamed with sun kissed skin.
I've accessorised the look with their suede ballet flats, as despite being a massive ballet pump fan I didn't own a pair is such a neutral colour. Although just so they stay this colour I'll be spraying mine with some suede protector.
I've tried to unleash some Parisian chic for this look so I've finished the outfit off with my monogrammed basket & an injection of blue to add a little more colour & interest.
