Morning ladies. I don't know about you but as much as I want the sunshine to keep the old tan topped up, I'm also getting itchy fingers at all the new into store loveliness that's arriving at an alarming rate & got me longing for Autumn. For as much as I love the summer, I also love those cosy Autumn days & nights - preferably bright blue skies wrapped up in cashmere & denim. Not to mention the perfect excuse/reason to drag my blazer collection out to play. So today I thought we'd start thinking looks for the coming season, timeless classic pieces that will stand the test of time.
Today I'm starting with Marks & Spencer & I thought I'd pull together a few outfit suggestions on how I'd style the new into store picks that have caught my eye.
From timeless boucle to statement military jackets the above two jackets have definitely made it onto my top picks for the coming season. Dress down with a simple tee for day, dress up with a cami or statement blouse of an evening & layer with cashmere & a thermal come the colder days.
Plus who can resist a striped top? Factor in a splash of sequins & you've got a top that can be dressed up or down.

As I've said many times on the blog, for me the one thing that catches my eye most about a piece of clothing is when there's that little bit extra detailing. Take the cuff detail jumper above, a simple 'V' neck that is instantly transformed to something a lot more special. Style with grey loose fit trousers as shown or even dress down with denim.
Of course we all love a star or two, so the above cashmere crew neck is a real winner & don't get me started on the above off the shoulder ruffled blouse - a real statement piece perfect for a night out.

One trend that's not going anywhere is leopard print. Obviously I have a HUGE Bet-tastic obsession with the print but it really does make a great accessory for teaming with black. Whether that be worn in accessories or going all out with a leopard print jacket.
Another weakness of mine has to be lace - pretty & feminine but so easy to toughen up with the right footwear & styled with a biker jacket. The above faux leather navy one is a real winner & something that will earn it's keep within a couple of weeks. I would honestly be lost without my biker jackets & wear them all year long.
Now I've been lucky enough to be able to pick a few pieces from Marks & Spencer, the first of which is their Spotted One Shoulder Long Sleeve Blouse. Just so you can see just how stunning it is I've had a quick trying on session & styled it below to show you how I plan on wearing it for a night out. A really easy & simple outfit that looks stunning without any effort.

My other two picks are this cashmere crew neck, which I've sized up to a size 10 for a slightly looser fit & these leather trousers. Both timeless pieces that will be perfect for layering - from bretons to frill collared shirts, to denim shirts not to mention a blazer the leather trousers have a real modern feel - think a cross between a trouser & jogger style & the quality is amazing. Soft, luxurious thick leather in a gorgeous cream/light mustard colour that will work with all the navy, grey & black hanging in my wardrobe. In terms of sizing of the trousers I'm wearing are a 6 & I would say they come up slightly on the larger size. I did try the 8 & whilst they fitted they gave a more looser fit so I decided to go down a size as I wanted the trousers to feel more tailored.
As you will no doubt know I'm a huge fan of Marks' cashmere & have various crew, 'V' & polo neck jumpers hanging in my wardrobe. I always find it's best to size up a size for a slightly looser more laid back look. You can see their full collection of cashmere here.
In fact I love my new leather trousers so much I'm wearing them today.
