Pleated Metallic A Line Midi Skirt, also available in silver here
Morning ladies for this month's picks from Marks & Spencer I thought I'd choose my favourite pieces from their 'new into store' & share how I'd style them, starting with the 3 looks above.
It goes without saying that there's some great new pieces that can easily be dressed up or down not to mention worn now & dare I say going into Autumn. Sorry I know a dirty word but with British summers its certainly worth thinking about!
From cropped culottes that can be dressed down with trainers & a simple crew neck jumper then teamed with a cami & heels for an evening. To a stunning floral midi maxi dress perfect for summer holidays & then worn with a blazer come Autumn. Or classic woollen cigarette pants that look great with a statement top then layered with a blazer or biker jacket come the cooler weather there's lots of timeless wardrobe staples that are ideal for breathing new life into our wardrobes.

As you can see from the 6 outfits I've put together I've created a few looks incorporating the odd splash of colour that will instantly transform some of your wardrobe faithfuls. And as much as I love neutral colours it's lovely to throw on a colour you don't wear on a regular basis & of course it will update your wardrobe instantly & help create new looks from items that have been hanging in your wardrobe for years.
I've been allowed to choose a few of my favourite pieces, so as well as sharing my top picks, I thought I'd share with you the five items I chose together with some ideas on how I'd style them.
Starting with something every wardrobe should have & that's a simple crew neck cashmere jumper. I've got a few of Marks' cashmere jumpers & wear them all year round so having built a collection of neutrals in grey, black & navy as soon as I spotted that they now offered this wardrobe staple in hot pink I just knew I had to have it. Not only is the colour ideal for adding a pop of colour on a dull summer's day it will lift the darkest of winter gloom too.

I'm wearing the jumper above with some cropped denim flares & a high neck ruffle white shirt. But equally it will look amazing with slate grey come winter or white jeans during the coming weeks. In terms of sizing I always go up a size with Marks' cashmere so I'm wearing a size 10 in the jumper.
Shoes - Marks & Spencer
I've finished the look off with my second choice from Marks & that's these navy block heel shoes. I've admired these shoes for a while & in the end the gold heel & the fact they're not too high so can be worn day or evening meant I wasn't able to resist any longer. In terms of sizing, I'm generally a shoe size 40 but found I was able to go down to a size 6 in this style.

Another item I've long been admiring & couldn't resist any longer is this red aztec clutch, which I've also previously featured on the blog. This style of bag as I've mentioned previously is just perfect for summer holidays & creating a bit of 'wow' factor to the simplest of looks. It also comes with a detachable strap but I generally see myself using it as a clutch.
As you can see from the below picture I've styled the bag with my final two picks. These light weight off white cropped cream culottes & an off the shoulder black top.
Whilst I've got white trousers in jeans & cropped kick flares, culottes were missing from my wardrobe & I think these are going to prove really versatile. Easy to style casually with a denim shirt & trainers, dressed up with a cami & classic navy blazer or glammed up as I've shown below. Size wise they're true to size & are a lovely lightweight so ideal for hot summer days. So much so in fact I'm thinking of possibly wearing them for travelling on holiday.
To finish today's outfit I've paired the culottes with my final choice of this off the shoulder blouse. I've bought a few off the shoulder tops this season & I love them - much easier to wear than the bardot style & this top is made from a lovely crepe style fabric. Plus as soon as I spied the gold button detailing (shown in the picture above) I was completely hooked. The only thing I'm not totally sold on is the spaghetti strap on the bare arm side. I've actually just tucked this inside on the pictures below but I think I'll probably end up snipping it off as I personally think the top looks better with that little bit less detail. In terms of sizing I originally tried a size down from my normal size but thought it needed to be a little oversized so ended up going with an 8 so again it's true to size.

So ladies any thoughts? Perhaps I've featured something that's caught your eye or maybe given you ideas on how to style a particular item or maybe you've already shopped Marks' 'new in' range. Or perhaps got your eye on a new addition but not yet 'clicked that button'? As always I'd love to hear your thoughts, & if you've yet to take a peek you can see their full range of 'new in' pieces here.
I must admit this swimsuit looks gorgeous & if you're like me & can't resist a pretty white blouse this is stunning & for casual days I'm loving the look of these joggers. Plus you can still grab their summer beauty box worth £105 for only £10 when you spend over £40, which is a complete bargain - see here for all the details.
