Andy Lau to hold a concert tour next year

(Toggle) Good news for fans of Hong Kong singer-actor Andy Lau! The 55-year-old posted on his official website yesterday that his recovery is going smoothly, and that he will be kicking off a new concert tour in China next year.

Whilst specific details about the concerts are not known as of now, the individual organisers will be announcing further details by the end of this year. Andy’s company also shared that the next year will be a “very important period” for the Heavenly King.

The news took his fans by surprise, as the actor has yet to get the go-ahead from his doctors to resume work. However, he was recently spotted walking without assistance at the funeral of his “benefactor”, Hong Kong film producer, Chan Pui Wah.

Andy, who had fallen off a horse while filming a commercial in Thailand earlier this year, suffered serious injuries and spent close to two months recuperating in a hospital after that. He was officially discharged on March 10, following which he announced that he intends to focus on his recovery, and cancelled his 20 year-end concerts. It is rumoured that Andy had incurred losses of over HKD$20 million (approximately S$3.55 million) due to the cancellation.
