Romantic-comedy ‘See You Tomorrow’ brings star power to final marketing push before Friday debut

(Global Times) Making one final promotional push, the producers of romantic-comedy film See You Tomorrow held a star-studded press conference in Beijing on Sunday, five days before the film's nationwide release on Friday.

The conference was attended by producer Wong Kar-wai, director Zhang Jiajia and actors Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro.

The year-end holiday period is one of the peak times for cinemas in China after the summer. Attempting to capitalize on the holidays, six new films will release this Friday, including Chinese comedy action flick Railroad Tigers and Canadian crime film Marauders.

Gathering more than a dozen stars and renowned Hong Kong filmmaker Wong, See You Tomorrow is expected to perform well at the box office.

Zhang's directorial debut, the film delves into the relationships between three couples over a period of 10 years, starting with a couple who meet during college.

With college students one of the film's target audiences, Zhang launched a nationwide tour of colleges and universities last month to promote the film among students.

At the press conference Wong told media that the main theme of the film is to remind audiences of those people "who lent you a shoulder to cry on or gave you a cup of hot tea when you were feeling low."
