Two yet-to-be named men were arrested on Wednesday in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, while trying to buy some dollars with fake naira notes.
They were nabbed at a Bureau De Change located in Zone 4, Wuse area of Abuja.
It was gathered that the suspects mixed real and counterfeit Naira notes which amounted to about N2m.
They approached a Bureau De Change operator in exchange for dollars.
But luck ran out on them after the Bureau De Change operator noticed that of the N2m presented to him, only N50, 000 was real naira notes.
The operator, who simply identified himself as Sani, raised the alarm and the duo was handed over to the Wuse Police Division.
An officer, Uchendu Michael told our correspondent that, “In this recession? They would not escape. They are already in our custody, the matter would be investigated and the suspects would be made to face the law.”
