th, 2016: Jio MAMI 18th Mumbai Film Festival with Star introduced a new vertical this year – Marathi Talkies which received unprecedented response today. The highlight of the Marathi Talkies was premiere of Ventilator, produced by Priyanka Chopra. Present at the premiere were Madhu Chopra, Raju Hirani, Director Rajesh Mapuskar, Festival Director Anupama Chopra, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Viju Khote, Jitendra Joshi, Sulabha Arya and others.Other films that screened at Marathi Talkies were Rajwade and Sons, Vakratunda Mahakaya and Bioscope. This section was curated by Amol Parchure.
Sila Samyagalil, a Tamil film directed by Priyadarshan and Abilash Nair was also screened at the festival today under the Spotlight section. Present for the screening were director Priyadarshan, Prakash Raj and others.
