On November 9, Queen Camilla visited the 95th Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey in London. There, the Queen planted a Cross of Remembrance and met with veterans and serving military personnel. The Field of Remembrance has been held in the grounds of Westminster Abbey since November 1928 for the purpose of commemorating those who have lost their lives serving in the Armed Forces.
Since 1928, the land outside Westminster Abbey has been used as a place for people who want to plant a cross in memory of a loved one.
King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace to recognise and reflect on the UK's contribution to humanitarian efforts across the world. The King and Queen spoke with people including fundraisers, frontline workers and refugees building new lives in the UK. The event also marked 60 years of the Disasters Emergency Committee.
On November 7, King Charles and Queen Camilla attended the Royal Ballet's special performance of Don Quixote at the Royal Opera House. Over 600 NHS staff attended the special performance to commemorate 75 years of the NHS.
The Opera for Ukraine Chorus, made up of 130 Ukrainians displaced by war, were also invited as part of the Royal Opera House’s continued support for the Ukrainian community.
