Today, 4 July, is Queen Sonja of Norway’s 86th birthday. Queen Sonja was born in Oslo on 4 July 1937 as the daughter of Dagny and Karl August Haraldsen. Then Crown Prince Harald and Sonja Haraldsen were married in Oslo Cathedral on 29 August 1968, nine years after they had first met. Together with King Harald, Queen Sonja has two children: Princess Martha Louise and Crown Prince Haakon.
