On April 24, 2023, Queen Sonja and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway attended the unveiling of Louise Bourgeois's monumental spider-like "Maman" in the Palace Park in Oslo. Louise Bourgeois (1911–2010) is regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 1900s. The sculpture Maman, now installed in the Palace Park, is owned by the artist’s own foundation, and is made of steel, bronze and marble.
