On December 20, 2021, King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria were present at the formal gathering of the Swedish Academy that took place at the Old Stock Exchange Building in Stockholm. As a tradition, at the end of its working year, the Swedish Academy holds a formal gathering at the Stock Exchange Building each year on December 20. The Swedish Academy was founded in 1786 by King Gustaf III for the purpose of promoting the Swedish language and Swedish literature.
