On July 9, King Carl XVI Gustaf, Crown Princess Victoria, Prime Minister Stefan Loefven and Speaker of the Parliament Andreas Norlen attended a Change of Government Council at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. Loefven stepped down as prime minister after a no-confidence vote on June 21 over proposed legislation to tackle a housing shortage. But after other parties failed to find support to form a government, he was asked to return to his post.
