Today, Danish Queen Margrethe turns 81. Margrethe II (born on April 16, 1940) is Queen of Denmark and commander-in-chief of the Danish Army. Margrethe succeeded her father upon his death on January 14, 1972. Once again this year, Queen Margrethe’s birthday on 16 April will be celebrated differently than usual.
