On October 21, 2020, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie visited the headquarters of Caritas Luxembourg. There, they presented a cheque to Mrs Marie-Josée Jacobs, President of Caritas Luxembourg. The Hereditary Grand Duke and Hereditary Grand Duchess support child aid projects carried out by Caritas Luxembourg in Southern Sudan.
Today, more than one million children suffer from acute malnutrition in Southern Sudan. In the country, ten percent of children pass away when they are below the age of 5. The coronavirus pandemic has worsened this situation. At the international level, Caritas Luxembourg works side by side with the victims of natural disasters and violent conflicts, and in addition, supports rebuilding and rehabilitation work.
