I would definitely consider myself a make up minimalist. Even when it comes to evening looks, I prefer a more understated, natural looking face with a single focal point (either lips or eyes). The 2 below looks are my favorite at the moment because they are simple and uncomplicated to do, yet never fail to make an impact.
Look one is glitter/crystal eyes paired with nude lips. I love to pair this look with some of my more romantic outfits. Super simple to do, I start with 2 coats of Lidstar Eyeshadow in Slip just to add base and a bit of shimmer to my eyelids and follow with Glitter Gelée. Unlike other shimmery eyeshadows, Glitter Gelée has large chunks of glitter in it, and creates a very modern, fresh and cool look! Finishing touch – a few crystals, which technically speaking you can place anywhere you like, but I prefer them in inner corners and center of the lower lid. Crystals are all the rage this season, so I was really excited to try this look. But it took me a while to find the ones that were easy to use! These are self adhesive!!!! Trust me that means everything because messing around with tweezers and eyelash glue is not fun at all. Basically, the other kind are tricky to use, but these are lovely!
Finding the right nude lipstick is mission impossible! You know what I’m talking about… It was not until I had a make up styling session with my Lancome specialist that I found out what to look for when it comes to perfect nude lips. The perfect nude lipstick should mimic your natural lip color as much as possible but with just a bit more oomph. It shouldn’t be so nude it looks like you’re wearing concealer on your lips, and you should definitely aim for a more soft pink/brown shade since most people’s lips naturally fall in that family of shades. My perfect nude is a combination of 2 shades: first coat in Rosewood Ruby followed by 1 coat of Coeur de Rubis.
Look two is bright red lips paired with glossy lids. As far as red lipstick is concerned I didn’t really believe in it until I tried the below shades by Tom Ford. Super dramatic, perfect for evening, this look is super uncomplicated to do, but comes in handy when you need to get it together quick! I’ve heard many different opinions on the subject of lid glosses and I have to say that this particular does not smudge. I would know since I always pair it with cat eyeliner. Just make sure you’re not painting it on directly on to your liner. Do your liner first, then add a bit of gloss on your lids (but leave some room between gloss and liner).
