Morning ladies & happy Sunday. As the festive celebrations reach their final day & life begins to return to normal I thought for this month's collaboration with Marks & Spencer we'd talk Spring & new into store pieces.
As much as I love the sales & grabbing a bargain, it always lifts the soul to see the new season items hitting the stores with the promise that warmer & brighter days lie ahead. Plus of course a well considered little treat is the perfect way of breathing new life into our wardrobes whilst waiting for Spring to hit.
As a lifelong Marks devotee it goes without saying that I've spotted a lot to tempt us with their new picks. So let's get started with my top 20 'must haves'. Beginning with the most gorgeous soft shade of pink overcoat that would be ideal for brightening up all our wardrobe neutrals & could be worn with a whole array of colours such as navy, grey, black & white.
Or if you prefer something a little more neutral then this soft grey belted car coat is sure to be an excellent addition. Ideal for work but also for dressing down & teaming with a pair of jeans, pretty white top & trainers of a weekend. I've recently bought something similar & I'm amazed just how many days I've found myself reaching for it.
Or if you have sports mad children or a fur baby or two to walk then a waterproof jacket is a wardrobe essential, especially when those Spring April showers arrive. So this waterproof parka (that's also available in black) would make a great addition & looks like a great cut, which resembles far more expensive brands.
Of course I couldn't feature my top 20 Spring picks without featuring a jacket or two, which as you'll know by now I have a huge weakness for! Starting with this stunning utility jacket. That's just a little smarter & more tailored than your traditional shacket but equally can be teamed with a pair of cigarette pants or pencil skirt for work as much as it can be worn with boyfriends jeans & a simple crew neck jumper at weekends.
This next jacket, pictured above, incorporates 2 of my favourite things - boucle & green & as you can see from the image above is perfect when worn with navy, not to mention grey & black.
Likewise how fab is the above checked longline blazer. I definitely have a need for incorporating more green items into my wardrobe this season, so am sorely tempted to get 'clicking the button'.
A denim shirt is a definite wardrobe staple for Spring but equally it's ideal for layering as shown in the look above. For me the styling is spot on & makes me want to recreate the whole outfit. Plus if you're a self confessed grey addict like myself, then there's also a grey denim shirt available here.
I don't think there's many of us that can resist a lace white shirt & for me the above one has a real Isabel Marant feel for just a fraction of the price. Style with jeans & trainers of a weekend & then when temperatures rise a pair of denim shorts.
Or how about this stunning frill/pleated detailed blouse that would be perfect for incorporating a soft tailored feel to weekend attire.
Equally if like myself you find a frill/pleat hard to resist then you're going to love the above navy blouse, that's also available in soft grey.
Moving onto a couple of great jumper finds with the above relaxed sweatshirt styled cashmere knit, which I have something similar to in grey & find that additional little extra detailing to the neckline ideal for adding interest & lifting the most simplest of outfits such as boyfriend jeans & trainers.
Or if you fancy adding a 'pop of colour' to your neutral wardrobe then the above blouson sleeved jumper would look great worn with denim, grey, navy & black.
Now as much as I love wearing jeans I also don't think you can beat a great pair of trousers, which I prefer to wear slightly cropped & falling to the ankle bone, for smartening up your weekend attire & I think both the above wool blend trousers & the below denim ankle grazers would earn their keep very quickly.
I'm especially taken with these denim cropped numbers that could so easily be worn with anything hanging in your wardrobe that you'd normally team with jeans.
Or for an instant pop of colour then the above scarf would be perfect for brightening up the dullest of days.
No sunshine holidays on the horizon for us but if you are lucky enough to be jetting off somewhere hot or just fancy getting ahead for summer then I'm loving the style of this plunge swimsuit.
Or if you fancy adding splashes of green to your wardrobe then either these snake print court shoes.
Or these ribbon detail lace up trainers are an easy way of doing so.
Finally I think you'll agree us girls can never own enough bags & this webbed strap messenger bag would make a great weekend wardrobe addition.
Just as much as this red leather number.
Back to today & it's all about that simple Sunday style. Last day off of the Christmas holidays so a sofa & film day with a cheeky snooze is definitely on the cards.
