| On the evening of August 15, Thursday, Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands attended a concert of The European Union Youth Orchestra at the Concert Building (Concertgebouw) in Amsterdam. The European Union Youth Orchestra is one of the world's pre-eminent symphony orchestras. The orchestra was founded in 1976 to promote cultural cooperation, unity and friendship among European young people. The EUYO's Honorary Patrons include the Heads of Government of all of the EU's Member States, the President of the European Commission and the President of the European Parliament. Princess Beatrix is one of the Honorary Patrons of the Orchestra. |
