King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima attended celebrations of 100 years of General Election Law

On May 17, 2019, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands attended celebrations of 100 years of General Election Law at the Hall of Knights (Ridderzaal) in The Hague. In 1917, all men in the Netherlands were given active voting rights, and in 1919, the women were also entitled to vote by the Dutch Parliament. The House of Representatives organizes various activities to celebrate that centenary.
