(Toggle) Taiwanese actress-singer Ella Chen turned 37 on Monday (June 18), reuniting with her S.H.E teammates, Taiwanese actress-singers Selina Jen and Hebe Tien at the surprise birthday party organised by her husband, Malaysian businessman Alvin Lai.
After the party, Ella, who frequently updates her social media accounts about her daily life, posted a number of pictures of it, including some with Selina and Hebe, as well as her husband and son, nicknamed “Strong Baby”.
In her post, the 37-year-old shared that her husband had originally wanted to keep the party a secret from her, but had no choice but to reveal it in the end.
“I thought that I needed to [go to] work, so, right when I was about to blow my top, he had no choice but to admit [that it was a surprise party],” she wrote.
She also recounted seeing a number of relatively depressing news reports in the past few days that caused her to feel so down, she was unable to sleep. She later ended up tearfully telling Alvin that “Strong Baby is my reason to continue living,” shocking him.
However, after spending an afternoon together with her loved ones, she felt considerably better.
“I’ve found the reason for me to continue living, [and] it’s love, because love is a [truly] tremendous force,” she wrote.
Ella married Alvin in 2012 and welcomed their son, nicknamed “Strong Baby”, in April last year.
