Gao Yunxiang applies for bail in court

(Toggle) Chinese actor Gao Yunxiang (also known as Gavin Gao) applied for bail for the first time in Australian court on April  5.

The 35-year-old actor did not appear in court in person, and applied for bail through a live video recording. It was said that Yunxiang was dressed in green prison garb in the video, and appeared well-rested.

His wife, Chinese actress Xuan Dong, and his parents were present at the hearing. Before the live video ended, the actor expressed his love for his wife by blowing a kiss into the camera, and said, “Love you, Xuan.”

The hearing was then adjourned until next Tuesday (Apr 10), as his bail application gets processed.

Yunxiang, along with another man named Wang Jing, was arrested by police last week after a woman reported that both men attacked her in a room in Shangri-La Hotel.

After the news broke out, Xuan Dong showed her support for her husband in a Weibo post, and said that she “believes in him”. The couple tied the knot in 2011, and they welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2016.

Yunxiang shot to fame in mainland in 2015, after he played lead character Zhai Li, the King of Yiqu, in historical drama The Legend of Mi Yue.
