(Toggle) Edison Chen surprised many when reports of him and his model girlfriend Qin Shupei having a baby together surfaced earlier this year. According to reports, the pair has been dating under the radar for over a year but it was only after giving birth to their daughter Alaia, did she directly confirm their romance by uploading a rare family picture showcasing Edison’s love towards their bundle of joy.
After becoming a father for the first time, the 36-year-old and his wife have been sharing their joy with the rest of the world through their respective social media platforms. Shupei posted a shot of Edison and Alaia on her Instagram yesterday, despite having only posted about work or friends previously.
Edison also appears to have bid farewell to his bad boy days, and instead looked full of delight and happiness as Alaia lay in his arms, looking very much in love with the new addition to his family.
Prior to Alaia’s birth, Edison had avoided the topic of Shupei’s pregnancy and even lashed out at the media when they probed him on the topic.
Edison only acknowledged the reports about his child after Alaia’s 100 day milestone celebration, after photos of the family leaked online. Since then, he has begun sharing snaps of her online, starting off with glimpses at her feet and shoes. More recently, he has also uploaded a full-body shot of her.
Netizens have pointed out that in the photos, Alaia’s cute features are an indication that she has inherited her parents’ good looks, with some even debating on which parent she takes after more.
