Ruby Lin on her motherhood journey

(Toggle) Taiwanese actress Ruby Lin is definitely not a tiger mum.

In a magazine interview, the 41-year-old spoke about her childbirth experience, as well as her expectations for her three-month-old daughter, nicknamed “Little Angel”. Ruby shared that she will not dictate her daughter’s future.

“As long as whatever she wants to do is upright we will definitely support her,” Ruby said, adding that she wishes for her daughter to be unafraid of getting hurt.

The actress also shared that she didn’t really get to bond with her daughter immediately after giving birth, and only managed to see her baby daughter’s face after six hours.

“It was a very special feeling [when I finally saw her face], very magical,” the first-time mum let on.

The actress also admitted that she continued to work as per normal even when she was expecting, jetting off for a short holiday with good friends, Taiwanese model Shu Qi and Taiwanese actress Kelly Lin.

After becoming a mother, Ruby revealed that her personality has changed. In the past, the actress was more impatient and temperamental. However, the actress has to accommodate the needs of her daughter, who needs to be fed every four hours, into her schedule now.

“Now, I feel like going home even when I’m outside [having fun]. She [Little Angel] is so tiny, yet, she manages to bring me so much happiness,” Ruby laughs, adding that she loves spending time with her daughter.

Ruby tied the knot with Wallace in Bali last August. The couple remained fiercely private about their personal life, especially Ruby’s pregnancy, after the wedding. The birth of their daughter in January was only announced days after her delivery.
