(China Plus) Chinese animation "Dahufa," the first mainland film that labels itself as "PG-13" is scheduled to hit screens on July 13.
Though China has not adopted a rating system for the film industry, the producer of "Dahufa" has become the forerunner by suggesting an audience group above the age of 13.
The mark of "PG-13", meaning parental guidance suggested, appears on the animation's poster and trailer.
With an ink painting style, the trailer has disclosed some bloody fighting scenes and the so-called violent aesthetics that the full film features.
Dahufa was a job position of the imperial court of the Yiwei State. The current Dahufa in the story came from a family that has shouldered the responsibility to protect the country for generations. He ran into a town named Peanut to find a missing Prince, and is entangled in a malicious plot involving
the locals.
Director Busifan said he hoped to discuss the complex human nature though a simple form.
"Dahufa" took nearly three years for the team to produce.
