Mumbai, November 2016: Watch the highly acclaimed cop-drama, ‘Ardh Satya’ this Sunday, 20th November at 8 PM on Zindagi as part of ‘Zindagi Awesomes’. Directed by Govind Nihalani the film depicts the quandary of a newly appointed police man dealing with a corrupt system and his own frailties. The film stars legendary actors like Om Puri, Late Smita Patil, Late Amrish Puri, Naseeruddin Shah and Late Sadashiv Amrapurkar in the main roles. Om Puri’s portyal as Sub-Inspector Anant Welankar won him a lot of critical acclaim.
‘Ardh Satya’ is the story of Anant Welankar (Om Puri), a sub-inspector in the Mumbai Police Force. Honest and fair in his approach, Anant soon discovers how the local mafia use their political connections to manipulate the police to get away with their crimes. Anant comes across one such notorious local crime lord, Rama Shetty (Sadashiv Amrapurkar), who he tries to arrest but fails several times. The turn of events lead Anant to work for Rama as he wants to be saved from being arrested and punished for killing a man in lock-up. Later, angered by Rama Shetty’s humiliation, Anant kills him and surrenders to the police.
