I'm not a fan of musky scents. A little amount of it can already give me a headache.
Observing my friends, I think there is a huge change in our perception of the "sexy" smell. Gone are the pungent scents that are meant to get the attention of the crowd. For now, we are embracing subtlely. That it's enought to give the impression that your clean and yes, you're taking care of yourself.
Then Abercrombie and Fitch introduced their new perfume for men. It breaks free from the current demand. It is something in the middle of the spectrum; not too strong, nor too soft.
I was lucky to be one of the first ones to have been given a bottle here in the Philippines. It is made by renowned Italian perfumer Phillippe Romano who wanted to create a modern fragrance "that balances both the fresh elements of the fougere (fern-like) with oriental warmth". He said that the perfume is intended for the "confident man who is not afraid to express his feelings."
The ingredients? An aromatic gin and tonic accord combined with Kiwano (horned melon/cucumber from Africa), spicy Szechuan pepper, airy violet leaves, tangy citrus, and the basenotes are comprise of sueded musk with raw amber.
The packaging itself is already sexy. The clear glass bottles with silver-grey juice has the appearance of the undulating water. A silver plate displaying the brand and fragrance names adorns the side of the bottle which is completed by a striated silver cap.
Abercrombie and Fitch's First Instinct is available in all Fresh Stores nationwide for PhP3,000 - PhP3,500 for a 50 ml bottle.
